Was pumped up and excited to finally get to face cranky man garrboi -- of all close to 10 years that I have met him we never had a single game :P.
He surprised me with playing his 4e Plague Marine Friendly List. No worries he did not max it up or anything but he did have a nasty surprise in some of those units.

GAME PLAY:
He did a refused flank and sent his Rhinos to his Right Flank with his Predator the only thing not moving so that it can take shots at my Grotzooka Kans. It would finally blow up when it exposed its flank to my Lootas when it was shooting at my Kans on the right flank to support the Death Guard that was there.
He had disembarked his Marines from there Rhinos and proceeded to double tap there bolters and flamer my boyz but there were enough boyz for them to remain fearless. 2 squad of boyz jumped on one unit of Death Guard while my Nob squad with Warboss jumped up and down on another squad.
Garrboi finally understood what I meant when I said I just had to roll buckets of dice with this army. Literally.
We just kept throwing units on the right flank. He had killed the 2 units of boyz on the left but then my Nobz wiped out one plague marine squad before it got jumped by the Chaos Lord and the Chosen. He managed to kill my Warboss but then the rest of the nobz wiped out him and his squad. This is where Garr conceded the game.
Wacky Moments.
- Tank Bustas blow up the rhino.. making it explode with a 6 inch kill radius.. killing a bunch of boyz
- Rhino Rams Trukk.. blows it up exploding and taking out more orks (this is turning into a pattern)
It was good quick game. Got to finish painting all of them :P
Just my attempt at keeping progress on stuff that I paint and assemble WH40K, WHFB, Hordes and just about everything else gaming wise :)

GENERAL: Where Time Flys and Games in
Well instead of what I was expecting it looks like after the Gladiator Cup I decided to go into hiding again :P
Managed to play a game with Obi as he tests out his new Ork List at the bunker last Tuesday. Which gave me the impetus to start assembling the Ork Killa Kans that I just got.
Speaking of which I am trying to get the angry old man himself.. garrboi for a game. Gotta dismiss the "mega time-warp slowness" that he keeps saying how I play. It's all because of the orks I tell him. Maybe that will give me more impetus to assemble stuff in and finish em :)
The heat was unbearable but perfect for painting.. too bad all my paint has just dried up :P

GLADIATOR 2010 - REPORTS: Game 5 to 7
VS LUCAS (DARK ELDAR) - Win
- Lucas had his neat raider army with those upgrades that reduced the range of my shooting guns at him. He had boxed himself into a corner of the board shooting pot shots at my army. He was too late to get out of the box as I got to close and I started shooting down his raiders with Shoota and Big Shoota Fire. I had enough models left after flinging them off on the first wave to seal the massacre.
VS DONNEL (SPACE WOLVES) - Lose
- My first time fighting the new and improved Space Wolves took me by surprise.. Donnel had taken a shoot counter-attack army with lots of Rhinos Razorbacks and Long Fangs. My BattleWagon and Looted Wagon got gutted early on and my attempt to rush his army failed as his Wolf Scouts came out and took out the trukks.
My Warboss legged it off the battlefield as his 19 strong unit got wiped out by shooting except for the nob. I have to remember not to deploy my armor in the middle of the field when there are a log of Heavy Support
I did manage to wipe out one unit of Long Fangs to shoota fire though.. and the other Long Fang unit finally got creamed by a very Angry Mega Armor Nob. Still he managed to kill everything in my army except one immobilized trukk and half a squad of Lottas.. oh well..
VS CLARENCE (Blood Angelos) Win.
- This had its high and low moments again. My Warboss unit once again disembarked to try to assault over-charged engine rhinos managing to stun, immobilize and weapon destroy it (this will be common theme in my quest to destroy the rhinos) and got to be in front of two Baal Predators. The Single Nob left got its revenge by blowing it up with his PowerKlaw and the Warboss killed some marines but got killed by a drop pod stormbolter. The Burna Boyz also just got annihilated by shooting and the Mega Armor nobz bounced off the Death Company.
There were some good moments though. My boyz in there truck managed to kill one dreadnought before being countercharged, a shoota boy unit managed to damage the other baal predator and the lootas managed to survive the whole game and another shoota boy unit killed off the death company and Corbulo.
My luckiest unit for the match would be the Rokkit boyz again.. they got assaulted by another drop podding dreadnought but was able to defeat it in hand to hand combat.
In the end it was close.. Managed to eck out a win by 35 points.

And with that there goes the Gladiator Gaming. Managed to get a respectible 52 points with 7 total games. 5 wins and 2 losses. Here's to the next tournament :)

Week 4 against DPAUL (Tyranids)
Well the winning streak had to end.. After much delay I got the chance to fight dpaul and his 6 Carnifex Shooty Army from hell Carni List.
My Heavy Hitters managed to slam his Heavy Carnifex but the Mega Nobz bounced off and the Ork unit with the WarBoss got dakkad to death before the WarBoss got split in half with a Tyrant.. Sigh.. Dang high toughness low Armor save units :P
Talk about Waves breaking on the surf.
Lessons learned - delay the assault, seriously consider putting Nobz with Power Klaws in the shoota lists just to make Heavy Assault units pause into thinking of actually assaulting me

Finally got my first Game for the Gladiator and it was against Sunny and his Tyranids with his Gaunts that had without number.
It was a long game - it took 4 hours for us to just finish it. I actually outnumbered the orks 2 to 1 in this game but lost my heavy hitters in the first 2 turns do to failed leadership checks (I knew I should have gotten that boss pole)
Still Killing of his Hive Tyrant with lots of Ork Shoota action more than made up for it.
