Well things have just been crazy the past few weeks.
The 2nd half of May saw me handling a new project that got me so stressed that I actually stopped eating and started to lose weight.. Too bad the extra work hours prevented me from painting anything.
Then for the 2nd half of June my family and I had to attend to a major family crisis. I pray to god that it is now all under control and I am thankful that me and my wife were there to support each other through it.
I am thankful for other people's prayers and the concern and support that they have given.
Thank you all.... now then let's get back to some war gamming.
On a side note: I have actually managed to come around and start finishing the Horus Heresy Books that I have.
Managed to finish both Fulgrim and Descent of Angels in two weeks. Fulgrim seemed like the first 3 books condensed in one while Descent felt more of a Fantasy book that sort of left me hanging.. I guess there is going to be a sequel to the book afterwards (which since I'm ignorant of the whole series I assume it is so)

TOURNAMENT: FANTASY : War for the Lady's Favor
Well I promised I would play my OnG Fantasy Army for the jojo cup (in memory of our friend) and lo I played it regardless of me not having played any game of 8th Ed WHFB and with my army dusty and broken (improper transport results to broken choppas, arms and whatnot) Still I had committed to play and so off I went to ETON Mall after spending the morning hours hunting down all of the models that I knew I had and would make up my army list (an army that I had just printed out the day before)
The place was spacious ( Not all of the stores have opened yet) which was perfect for gaming really. After I looked at all the beautifully painted armies, I slowly started to bring out my army (some of them in pieces) in shame. Still I remember jojo not caring about you having a painted army or whatnot as long as you had a good game and had fun.. (I kept telling that to myself all event..)

40k LEAGUE KILL TEAM Games 4 & 5
Well my feeble attempts at gaming continues.. with me able to get in a Massive 2 games for Kill Team.. but hey better than nothing right? Still need to get 5 more games in before the League ends.. (oh and of course one more little thing that I need to do which is like actually FINISH PAINTING THE DARN THINGS.. (sigh oh work.. how you prevent me from doing my hobby)
Game 4 - Vs Sean and his 5 man Nob army
Sean had the classic Nob Star list.. with matching Painboy!! Too bad they were all individual units though. With only 5 Nobz to worry about I just wanted to entice him to go forward and have him hack a gretchin or two before I unload with the firepower I had.
In the end he never got into close combat. I just unloaded everything I had one model at a time until I killed the Nobz and moved on to the next target.
So a win for me on this one. On to the next game.
Game 5 Vs Jim and his 5 man destroyer army
Jim had Necron Destroyers.. Destroyers that I learned are now only considered as Jump Jets and only fire 2 shots each a turn with only 24 in range guns (except for one that had the str9 gun). In short they feel like crap now (classic GW marketting - nerf the thing that was so powerful in the previous codex so that you can sell something else)
Jim played smart by ignoring the Grots and split firing and taking down the Ork Boyz that I had which caused me concern after the first turn. Specially since after my turn of shooting.. all 3 his Destroyers managed to get back up (modification to We'll be back protocols)

This somehow feels similar to something |
Fortunately for me.. I had enough numbers to soak up the lose of my Boyz (and since he was not shooting at the Gretchin screen in front I would still get Cover Saves of 4+ (3+ when I Go to Ground) also the fact that he mostly had 24 inches of range meant that I had guns that could reach him while he couldn't.
Managed to wipe him out thus preventing anything from coming back.
(Kudos in this game goes to my Mek boy with KMB as he played a game of Catch and Mouse with the Necron Destroyer the whole game. Tagging him when it needed and avoiding being killed in the process.
Conclusion
So 5 games in and finally have 3 Wins versus 2 Losses (both from fighting Nids) I am feeling jubilant but I still have not fought against MEQ forces.. Will see in the coming weeks how my list will fare against them.
